The 2020 Philippine Independence Day Celebration

Mabuhay! Long live! Since June 2013, Seven Oaks Filipino Employees Association, Inc. (SOFEA, Inc.), Seven Oaks School Division, and Maples Collegiate have held annually the Philippine Heritage and Independence Day Celebration. Many schools in the division as well as from the different community associations have joined together to commemorate this historic milestone in the lives of many Filipinos/Filipino-Canadians through festivities and programs like folk/modern dances, folk/modern songs, cultural exhibits, and other special creative numbers.
The platform offered and supported by Seven Oaks School Division to the community has been immensely enjoyed by the Filipinos and non-Filipinos alike. Although this June 2020 may look different from the previous annual physical celebrations, let us all take pride as we watch this year's virtual celebration which is a product of many pieces that were passionately woven together during this unprecedented pandemic time.
